Bernadette School was founded in 2012 by Hannah Tonys in Hollywood, Florida. Our founding principle is simple: every child deserves the chance to study, grow, and learn. As special needs educators, our number one goal is the safety of our students and the ability to offer first-class education, support, and an inclusive environment for all.
Bernadette School is a specialized educational institution, and we encourage learning, regardless of skill, level, or individual capability. Our teachers and staff are well educated and experienced with special needs children. All special needs. Children are welcome, as our staff has extensive knowledge working with all special needs children.
Our newly designed building is located in Hollywood, Florida. The location and individual classrooms are secure, accessible to everyone, and allow for flexible teaching methods. Our classrooms are also equipped with electronic locks, educational technologies, and resources.
We provide individualized education plans, or IEP’s, and with that in mind, each student is assessed when they first arrive, and then a tailor-made educational guideline is set for them. This allows her educators to hyper-focus on specific areas that students may want or need to grow in.
Our curriculum here at Bernadette School is highly individualized. The flexibility allows us to work with students on a one-on-one basis. In addition to educational subjects, we foster creativity and social skills among our students. This allows for a true school-type feeling for the students
Communication between staff, children, and parents is extremely important to us in providing daily reports for each student on the subject matter, social skills, areas, and creative outputs that we’ve covered today. This allows the parents or caregivers to be more involved with the child’s education and to be on the same page in and out of school.
